Mobile Banking
Patacash is an upgraded mobile banking service (i.e. enhancement of the SMS banking services) that now allows customers to transfer funds from their Postbank account to M-PESA or to another Postbank account. The patacash service is offered under partnership with mobile network provider, Safaricom.

How to access mobile banking services
- Postbank mobile services can be activated through two major ways:
- Through a USSD code, *498#.
- By installing a Postbank mobile app.
Postbank mobile services can be activated through two major ways:
- Before using the USSD code *498# and mobile app, visit the nearest Postbank branch and fill in a form to register for mobile banking.
- The Postbank application is available on Google Play store.
How to Deposit money to your Account or any other Postbank account using M-PESA (Pay Bill or Lipa Na Mpesa)
- Go to the M-PESA menu on the Mobile phone and select
- Select “Pay Bill or Lipa Na Mpesa
- Enter the Postbank business number 200999
- Enter Your Full Postbank Account Number
- Enter the amount you wish to deposit
- Enter your Mpesa PIN Number.
- Transaction details will be displayed on your phone screen (e.g. Pay Bill 200999, Your Account Number, and Amount).
- Confirm details are correct by inputting your Mpesa PIN and select “OK” to complete the transaction.
How to use the USSD code
- Dial *498# in order to access the USSD platform.
- A reference number will be sent to the customer’s phone.
- The customer must then redial *498# and will be prompted to input the reference number.
- After inputting the reference number, the customer will be prompted to enter and confirm a new PIN.
- After successful activation, you will receive a confirmation message.
- Dial *498# and chose options for mobile banking.
